The myGovID app is an essential tool provided by the Australian Government for individuals to authenticate their digital identity and securely access government online services. It distinguishes itself from the myGov platform as a unique sign-in method for myGov accounts.

Setting up your myGovID is a straightforward process involving three simple steps:

 <li>Download the myGovID app</li>
 <li>Enter your personal details, including your full name, date of birth, and a personal email address that only you can access</li>
 <li>Verify your identity to enhance your identity strength. You have the option to choose between Basic, Standard, or Strong identity strengths. By verifying your Australian identity documents, such as your passport, driver’s license, and Medicare card, against existing government records, you can increase your identity strength. Additionally, you can further strengthen your identity through a one-time face verification check using your photo.</li>
</ol>

Please note that you must be at least 15 years old to create a myGovID account. However, certain government online services may have additional age restrictions. To determine if you meet the eligibility criteria for a specific service, please refer to its terms of use.
